Package and label design
Great packaging does more than hold a product—it tells a story, builds brand recognition, and ultimately drives purchasing decisions. At I Design, I've had the opportunity to develop a range of labels and packaging solutions for Café Beignet products over the past several years, collaborating closely with print vendors and manufacturers to bring each concept to life.
Every project begins with a balance of creativity and practicality. From selecting the right materials to understanding printing limitations, packaging design is as much about execution as it is about visual appeal. My workflow primarily lives in Adobe Illustrator, where I craft detailed, production-ready artwork that translates seamlessly from screen to shelf.

One standout example is the coffee can design. The artwork is printed directly onto a tin-plated steel can with a clean white base, allowing the branding elements to remain crisp and vibrant. This approach not only enhances durability but also creates a premium, timeless look that aligns with Café Beignet’s heritage.
Another favorite is the king cake box, designed using sturdy white cardstock and finished with a cellophane window. This combination offers both structural integrity and product visibility—an important factor when showcasing baked goods. The window creates an immediate connection with the customer, letting the product speak for itself while the surrounding design reinforces the brand.
When products are intended for retail distribution—especially in grocery environments—additional considerations come into play. I incorporate UPC barcodes, nutrition facts panels, and required labeling elements to ensure full compliance while maintaining design integrity.
What ties all of these projects together is a commitment to thoughtful design. Whether it’s choosing the right substrate, refining color profiles for print accuracy, or ensuring consistency across product lines, every detail matters. The end goal is always the same: packaging that not only looks great, but performs effectively in the real world—on shelves, in customers’ hands, and as part of a cohesive brand experience.
If you’re considering new packaging or refreshing an existing product line, investing in strong design upfront can make a measurable difference. After all, in a crowded marketplace, packaging isn’t just decoration—it’s your first impression.
